I've been telling many of you how beautiful the sunsets are here. Of course, this picture doesn't do them justice, but they really are incredible!

-3: I did a presentation on malaria prevention to over 100 people in Hansua (the community I am staying in for training). I've never had such a captive audience ... a little nerve-racking actually.

I've had three dresses made for me so far. This is the first.

My sisters!! Left to right: Linda, Abigail, Cynthia

My homestay family had a litter of puppies just before I arrived. I kind of got attached to one (even named her), so they are sending her to Binaba with me. Her name is Uno ... because she's the only one that looks different from the rest and I play the game Uno with the neighborhood kids every other day.

 Neighborhood kids.

8. Can you imagine how excited I was to see this little girl in a UGA t-shirt? She has absolutely no idea what she is wearing (all those clothes you give to Goodwill come here eventually!!), but I thought it was cute.

-10: Me and the sisters. The dress I am wearing is the second dress I had made here.

-18: I was officially sworn in as a Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) on Friday, December 2. The dress my family and I are wearing are traditional dresses for ceremonies (white with black pattern). The ceremony was complete with an African drumming and dancing group, brass band, performances from each of the language groups (see pic #12 for mine), address from the U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and several other leaders, an actual "rise your right hand and swear to be a volunteer", and of course lots of food afterwords.
